Slide and Film Strip Projector Effects and Transitions

The main feature of Slide Strip is the transition effect that simulates both a carousel and film strip projector. These effects come with a variety of transitions from a simple fade in and out carousel transition, to a more complex over-advance film strip projector effect.

Slide Strip comes with 12 different slide Effects presets: 4 variations of real 16mm vintage film stock, a grain only effect with a real 16mm film grain overlay, a film stock simulator, and 6 different still frame overlays from real 16mm vintage film stock.

Slide Strip also comes with 10 retro-style color grade presets that you can use within the slide effects or outside depending on your desired look and project you’re working on.

To top it all off, Slide Strip comes with six different sound effects from the sound of the projectors fan, to the various clicks it makes, to the on and off switch of the projector machine.

Film Stock Options and Controls

Inside of the slide presets you have the control of either a vintage slide or clean slide overlay, many choices of slide sizes by using a simple slider to easily control the size, and color-grading the film stock with endless possibilities by using the color-picker tool. You can even turn the slides off if you want to go for a straight vintage film look only.

The really cool thing about color grading the film stock overlays is that you retain the film leaks, burns, and variations from the real 16mm film overlays which allows you to change the over-all color grade but still maintaining a realistic retro look.

Still Film Stock Overlays

There are 6 still film grabs from the 16mm film stock that you can use to overlay over still photos and moving video…they look great with both. And you have all the same color controls over them that you do with the other slide Effects presets.

This incredible tool has been built exclusively for FCPX. Not only can you create a film projector/slide show, but there are so many other tools inside Slide Strip that you can use it for so many other things.

It’s so easy to use too. Just lay out your footage and cuts on the FCPX timeline, choose one of the several different slide and film stock effects, tweak, then add the desired transitions.
